Description

 

 For those who want to improve their techniques, you will learn to sail in stronger winds, deep beachstarts, faster tacks and gybes, planing using your harness and footstraps, sailing in strong and light winds.

Pre-Requisites

 Clients should be at the level outlined by the Get Up+Go! program. These skills are required to progress to the next level.
Equipment Fanatic Viper & Shark boards; Loft, North & Neilpryde sails rigged on high quality Neil Pryde Masts and Booms.
Course Program

  • Beachstart & deep beachstart

  • Harness and footstraps: planing techniques in strong and light winds

  • Rig-steering in stronger winds

  • Foot steering to progress to jumps, carve gybes

  • Gybing: Strong & light wind techniques; types of gybes (duck, carve etc.)

  • Fast tacking: Strong & light wind techniques

  • Kit & rigging: how to get the most from your equipment

  • Tides & Weather: preparation before you go sailing. Keeping yourself safe and having fun

  • Self-rescue

Award

 Candidates will be awarded an ISA log book which is stamped for Go4It! strong and light wind achievements. These log book stamps are required if you wish to progress to become a windsurfing instructor at a later date.
