I just wanted to drop a brief line and express my appreciation for the quality of the training course for the National Powerboat Certificate that I undertook on 4th & 5th of this month (July 2009). The training centre venue was pleasant and the training locations ideal. I found it a very useful course.I would particularly like to express my appreciation of the two tutors. John & George. They demonstrated an excellent and effective combination of a business-like approach with a relaxed style of delivery. Please record my appreciation of their work. [Powerboater, Dublin] Having completed the Power Boat Level 2 course last weekend (28th&29th Mar 2009), just thought I`d send a quick email to say I really enjoyed the 2 days, the course was very well organised and structured. In particular our instructor "Donnacha" was really excellent! He has a great talent for instructing and had a great rapport with all participents, he`s an asset to the company. Looking forward to doing my next course in the near future! [Powerboater, Dublin]I'd also like to say thanks to all at DMG. I really enjoyed the two days and learnt a lot. I look forward to going back to do the advanced [powerboat] course. [Powerboater, Dublin] Just to say that I very much enjoyed the excellent Powerboat course last week and hope to put it to good use in the future. Jonathan was a very thorough tutor and given my lack of experience was extremely patient and understanding. [Powerboater, Dublin] Hi Cora/Dave - Thanks a lot for the weekend - The tuition, equipment and lunch were all great! Even the wind picked up quite a bit in the afternoon which was brilliant and quite a buzz!! [Windsurfer, Dublin] I really enjoyed the course, can't wait to get some practice before it gets too cold, so hopefully see you in Belmullet in 2 weeks time. [Windsurfer, Dublin] This is just a short note to say thank you to Dave and yourself for all the help on the course it was wonderful dealing with both of you the whole exercise was most enjoyable and I will be back again for more. [Sailor, Own Boat Tuition, Dublin] Just a quick note to say many thanks once again. Both Linda and I really enjoyed the day. You provided a lot of information and imparted plenty of encouragement along the way. We look forward to arranging another day soon. [Own Boat Private Tuition, Dublin] The course was very enjoyable and I have recommended it to my colleagues. [Powerboater, Dublin] Just a quick note of thanks for what was a very enjoyable weekend. I was in the ISA today and got my license, so now it just remains for me to go boating on the med next week. I really enjoyed myself at the weekend I would like to thank Donnchadh for his professionalism in all aspects of the course. [Powerboater, Dublin] Many thanks again for the excellent event last Thursday. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, and I believe a couple (myself included) would like to take it further. [Microsoft, Dublin] A number of articles regarding safety, planning and navigation of trips, and training suitable to your requirements have been published in Afloat Magazine. Dave appeared on TV3 Morning AM with Aaron Armstrong as a part of the promotion for the RDS Boat Show. Laura Woods, from 2TV, spent some time blasting on the water with DMG Sailsports as part of a promotion piece for Snickers Irish Outdoor Adventure Show. As part of ITV's "Holidays from Hell" Dave travelled to the Bahamas in order to expose dangerous recreational water practices at overseas resorts. Dave provided a demonstration on sailing for the Nationwide programme on RTE1 and also taught Ray D'arcy to sail while in Glenans, Collanmore Island in 1995.
In January 2009 Dave brought Brian Ormond out on the boat as a piece on 'My Perfect Day' for the Seoige Show on RTE1. Windsurf Across the Irish Sea in aid of AWARE (which aims to fight depression). With donations from individuals and large organisations, Dave & Cora raised over €6,000 for Aware. Dave just had to windsurf across the Irish Sea...! As a celebration of our move to a new office, and during the 2008 On the Water Boat Show in Malahide Marina, 10% of all courses booked, attended and any cash donations were given to to Children's University Hospital - Temple Street. This donation went towards the Cystic Fibrosis Unit. Irish Windsurfing Festival / Fleadh Sheoil na hÉireann was organised, publicised and managed along with Surfdock in 2007 and 2008 at Malahide Yacht Club, Broadmeadows Estuary. |
