| Ciara Peelo at the
Olympics |
Ciara Peelo has won a place for
Ireland at the Olympic Regatta by placing 29th overall
from a 116 boat fleet at the Women's Laser Radial World
Championship in New Zealand. It was a remarkable
performance by this outstanding sportswoman. Olympic
campaigning doesn't come cheap so a big fundraising
initiative is now underway to assist Ciara in her bid.

Safety on the water this
summer |
|
Now that summer is here everybody's getting
back out on the water to enjoy their boating. Here are
some basic pointers to keep you, your family and friends
safe whilst out on the water:
1. Wear a lifejacket
2. Check your engine and fuel
3. Tell others where you're going
4. Carry some means of calling for help
5. Keep an eye on weather and tides
Another great idea is to have a Sea Check
done on your boat. This is where an RNLI Sea Check
adviser visits your boat and provides advice on safety
measures and reccommended equipment. For more info click
the link below.

| Adult Dinghy
Courses |
|
|
In a new partnership with Malahide Yacht Club, we
plan to offer the ISA Dinghy Sailing courses for
adults.
The courses will be run from the MYC
facility on Broadmeadows Estuary, Malahide.
Dinghies provide a great introduction to sailing as
you get a lot of direct hands on time and learn to
feel the wind more quickly than on larger boats.
We aim to start these courses in June. Final
details are still being worked out so keep a close eye
on our sailing webpage for
more. | | |
